Princeton University Concert -SpaceJunky
Posted 4/19/2009 7:16:31 PM

On the 27th March Princeton University in Second Life was full to capacity as musician enthusiasts gathered for a SpaceJunky Concert. Princeton University is using Second Life for a platform for teaching and researching. It is also an environment for
engaging learning as students can come into this Virtual World and be in a Virtual Class Room, engaging this cyber world and
collaborate activities for academics, giving these students a hands on approach.
With music and this Virtual Class room it connects everyone together with educational peers active in Second life and showcases in world projects and community. We saw that when music and academics came together for one magical concert, bridging the unity of how everyone interacts into another cosmic thread in the metaverse.
It made me think on Virtual Culture in the metaverse how it teaches students to navigate and engage themselves in the cyber
environment and virtual connections, and how the universities like Princeton can bridge and engage that.
I had a look round Princeton University and is a leader in showcasing experimental space for teaching, learning and
exploration.
Princeton University includes a confence area, museum of arts, performance and store information centre.
The NMC-The New Media Consortium owns the central core of the Island.
Everyone part of Princeton University were on hand to talk on the structure and demographics of Princeton and showcase there world at Princeton in Second Life.
Princeton occasionally run experiments in Second Life for students, researchers and post-doctorate scholars in various
disciplines of the social sciences. All research and experimentation is subject to strict guidelines for human research, and must be approved by an Institutional Review Panel before implementation.

A group called "Princeton Research Participants" gives notice of such experiments and shares findings from past research
projects. Some of the Alpha Crew took part in an experiment after the SpaceJunky performance. It gave the students a platform to interact with some diverse people from SpaceJunky Alpha Crew.-Bella Dutton SJ Publicist

SpaceJunky Valentines Day Concert
Posted 2/20/2009 2:30:53 PM

Having the show at Dilos Island on Valentines Day got me thinking of the history of Valentines Day how it came about and the tradition it continues today RL and Sl.
St Valentines Day as we know it today contains both vestiges of Christian & Roman traditions. Today the Catholic Church recognizes 3 saints named Valentine and Valentinus all of whom were martyred.
One legend suggests that Valentine was a priest who served during the 3rd century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius 11 decided that single men made better soldiers than with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine thought this was in just and defied Claudius and continued to perform marriage for young lovers in secret, when these actions were discovered he was put to death. Another legend was Valentine sent the Valentine greeting to himself while in prison and fell in love with a young girl whom may have been the jailors daughter. Before his depth it is alleged that he wrote a letter, which signed from your Valentine. Music is a big part of Valentines Day, and friends are as well if you dont have a special Valentine. A big thankyou to Zolleecx and his staff for hosting this beatiful event, bringing together everyone on this special day.
Love could be felt in the air, not only love for a certain connection, but for everyone to get together and convey this at Dilos Island Concert. It bought together people whom were alone, as well as friends, partners and lovers.
The Island was an array of cupids and hearts, and beatiful energy. How does one describe what one feels during the SpaceJunky concert.Mere words are seldom adequate to describe feelings in love, but it is the joy, the passion and soul they both convey and intertwine. This could be felt with SpaceJunky performing, especially most songs are of the cosmic connections which bind us together, this can be felt through music. Music and love are within each of us, sometimes it just needs to be expressed and unleashed. The cosmic connections we feel are expressed in music. Sometimes we can be so far away yet so close to someone. Second Life and music bridges that gap, so both a mere reflection of each other.
May no one ever feel alone, and always know if they are alone music can make us feel love and a SpaceJunky concert can make you feel loved and part of something.
**Cosmic love and peace** let music fuel your heart and soul.

On 16th December SpaceJunky took to stage at Deans Vegas. Itis home to one of SL newest shopping preciencent as well as an amazing club exuberating with a feel of the past and today. SpaceJunky once again played to a sell out audience, you could feel everyone experiencing the “timbre” the sound of the bands tone which could be felt energetically with each lyric, making me think of how ones psychoaucstics correlates to parameters of sound and perception in the virtual world. During the performance you could feel
The Epistemology (greek word Knowledge) which could be seen in the cognition and composition of the bands ,musicology. SpaceJunky continued to relay the experience of knowledge during there show, playing to a social gathering both of Deans Vegas Fans as well as Alpha Crew of SpaceJunky fans and some new members.
When l panned around the room you could see and feel the structures of the band, surroundings of melody, tonality, rhythm and quasilinguistic elements. All of these elements intertwining
binding together the social interactions of everyone at the sim as well as the enviroment.

SpaceJunky Music and Fashion
Posted 6/14/2008 6:53:22 AM

The past few weeks SpaceJunky have been working on a music video Killer Coat. The two winners who won the competition are amongst the best designers in SL. June Dion from Bare Rose and Etain Peregrine from Dark Eden,
both have a great eye for fashion and designed amazing Killer Coats which have been filmed in SpaceJunky's latest music video Killer Coat, soon to be released. The music video is about shopping which we all love, especially in SL.
Music and Fashion make up a big part of SL. It is also an extension of an artists creativity. Musicians like SpaceJunky need an act or something visual to sooth ones soul and energy and also it is there job to look good in every time they are in the public eye or performing on stage. Designers like to have there labels and clothes worn and there art work appreciated.
Fashion and music both go hand in hand. The art mediums are similar. Most people dress in sync with what they like to wear, or even to go to a fashion event, as we have seen in the past with the shows Space Junky have performed at with theme dress from silks to aliens. Setting the art medium to suit demographic of the club or sim. What ever there theme, Space Junky and the designers can work together to bring this art medium alive, creating the ambience of music as well as the specific design for the event.
There is a link between fashion designers and music as it complements each other. Each is a collaberation the best designs. It is great to see what talent is out there and how talented musicians such as SpaceJunky and designers such as June Dion and Etain Peregrine can link and bind there two art mediums together. Music and Fashion will alway compliment each other and continue to work like Yin and Yang of SL.-Bella Dutton-Space Junky publicist.

Space Junky plays Club Fantasy
Posted 3/23/2008 4:52:35 AM

Last weekend Space Junky played at Club Fantasy. An amazing club with great energy and a big thankyou to stealth and his employees for making it a great show. It was a fancy dress party, theme was come as your famous space avator. A big thankyou to Furia's Star Wars Sim as well as Babylon6 as well for being part of it. Everyone was out from darth vadar to princess lea.
Club Fantasy has so much so life and soul. The design is state of the art and the ambience could be felt through each person as Space Junky rocked the house. Club Fantasy is an ideal fantasy, once you are they the Fantasy consumes one soul feeling that you have been part of this Club as well as this energy forever.
Personally l found that this club has the essence of spirituality which can be felt when Stealth and colleges bring this place alive with bands like Space Junky. Club Fantasy captures the essence in a form of therapy. The weekends show stimulated the connected consciousness, communication and spiritual experience in the Alpha Crew and Club Fantasy.
We all seem to feel this on an unconscious level as well as the emotion can be felt through the inner world of music and mind. Space Junky music portrays frees one mind and body to open up one conscious giving us a state of freedom by the musicians techniques and energy of one amazing venue.
Space Junky rocked Club Fantasy and looking round on the hall of fame this is one club you must landmark and come back to and visit from time to time.
