Ding Dong The Troll Is Dead! (or is it?) Your Troll is not dead.. it's just buried! Lurking there in the OS code that is part of SL.. waiting to be "reawakened", like something from Dawn Of The Dead no doubt, is "Ruth"! I found out why this happens by chance I happened across some news on Open Source coding for Virtual Worlds.. and suprise suprise.. LL/SL "removed/closed off" part of the coding for when you rezz inworld and you end up looking like a "cloud of vapour/gas" Something to do with "Ruth" (Sound of alarm bells going off! "WARNING... WARNING!!! : Troll alert!!") You could resolve this problem by doing the following... if you so wish to. PLEASE NOTE: I won't beheld responsible for any problems that arise ifyou so desire to carry out these actions. You take full responsibility for it on yourself and your own actions in doing so. To permanently replace the "cloud" with an actual avatar ("Ruth" - this was an old SL default for your avatar a few years ago) Do the following... Select Advanced > Debug Settings.. In the first drop down click to get a list and scroll down to RenderUnloadedAvatars and then click the lower drop down and change it from FALSE to TRUE A link to the wiki page about "Ruth" here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Ruth Brace yourself as you will see your "real self" the "troll" that SL made you look like when you first came into SL. We, my friends and I, had folders of stuff for your avi to help you overcome this problem.. "Troll Killing" was a name that Cherry came up with when we moved from RLC to SL a few years ago. Fortunately nowadays people don't have to endure this anymore. But you can "revive your Troll" as this, so it seems, "kills the cloud" too from what I understand. I've not tried this personally....yet. I don't think I'm that brave! It would seem for some reason SL seem to think you like looking like a cloud when you rezz inworld. Maybe it is better than looking like a troll... you tell me. As they said on Crimewatch on the Beeb: "Goodnight.. and try not to have nightmares"! PS: No offence is intended to the ones known as "The Children of Ruth" then again... it would appear that WE ARE ALL "Children of Ruth" ! Forward to Friend | Comments (0) EMERALD... It's good to be green. Or is it?  Instead of people adding "fuel to the fire" why the heck don't you all just do a search online for details about this "incident" because that's all it is. Albeit not a very good one though I do admit. They, the Emerald team, have moved swiftly to get this sorted out. Unlike some others I could mention. Around 30-50% of people use Emerald as a viewer for SL. It has, however, for the time being been removed from SL's TPVD (Third Party Viewer Directory). IT HAS NOT BEEN BANNED! . Below is the information for ALL of you who don't know about what has happened, as well as those that do. It doesn't take much to do a search for this information. Use your search engines! You do know how to use them do you? Or do you just drift along on the currents on the web and take in what could be construed as "Chinese Whispers". Use that thing in your head.. it's called a brain! This removal was a result of recent actions by former Dev member Fractured Crystal. Fractured resigned from the team due to those actions and Emerald Dev Team has undergone a massive restructuring. We will be re-applying for the TPVD very soon, however there are some rumors and fears I think need to be addressed. Many people have heard that Emerald is banned or that users will be banned for using the Emerald Viewer. This is completely untrue. Linden Lab’s Third Party Viewer Directory is optional for third party viewers to apply for and join. It is not a requirement to be on the directory. What is a requirement however is that third party viewers respect the Third Party Viewer Policy http://secondlife.com/corporate/tpv.php. With the exception of the actions of Fractured recently, Emerald has always respected that policy and will continue to do so. While Emerald is not on the TPVD you can rest assured that this does not mean Emerald will be banned or blocked by LL, and you will certainly NOT be banned for using emerald. I am Fractured Crystal. I have a long history of doing stupid things, but occasionally I did something clever; one of those being the Emerald Viewer project. I had no idea that it would reach a hundredth of the popularity it has; It was merely a way to share useful, legitimate modifications with the world, and something I encouraged others to do along with me. I honestly believe that Emerald (and other viewers at the time) changed Third Party Viewers forever; that it was a turning point for them, where they went from something that was used by a fraction of people to today, where TPVs are used by the majority of Second Life residents. One of those stupid things was the oft-discussed emkdu metadata. While it was suggested by others, it would not have been implemented had I not supported it. While I still feel that it was harmless, it is clear that it is not wanted. This metadata has been entirely removed in emkdu and will no longer be present in future releases. Another, this most recent incident, was the issue regarding the login screen, and the iframes. I am the one who, in my boredom, modified the login screen to include those. I subsequently forgot about it. Obviously, this was removed as soon as it was mentioned in our forum. I am not attempting to justify my mistakes, merely to explain them. As you might guess, if anyone else had done this, it would be unforgivable, and the same applies to me. I am voluntarily removing myself from the project. I will be transferring control of the primary webserver to Arabella Steadham as soon as is possible. To reiterate: ■emkdu metadata has been entirely removed, and will never occur again. ■The login screen issue has been fixed, and will never occur again. ■I am leaving the project. ■The webserver will be transferred to Arabella Steadham as soon as possible. ■At some point in the near future the project will change to another domain, which will be announced here, along with appropriate automatic redirects on the modularsystems.sl site(s). For what it is worth, I am sorry to those of you who were unknowingly made a part of the login screen incident. I just noticed that some of mine are marked as mature when I didn't check the box marked mature! I check my blogs before I post them and if there is a rude word then I'll either change it or use another word instead. I do sometimes use them and then I mark the blog as "mature".After all we don't want all of these kiddies who play violent pc/console games and who also listen to records with endless swearwords in them as well as all that porn that is on the web for them to see.. I was talking to two different people at the same time about the F1 GP from Hungary yesterday.. and this is what we thought should happen to make them fun to watch ..but not to race in! Basically the idea came from talking with my friends Beth and Maddy.. it "evolved" into the list below. I thought of some more after the race too! These could be random and placed anywhere o nthe track and also appear at more than one GP as well. Some are of course weather dependant... (ie the picnic one and Sunday drivers.. rarely out on a wet weekend!) Each of the listed types below could possibly carry a difficulty rating, the higher the difficulty the higher the points scored. So... in no particular order I give you what could be The Obstacle GP 1: Sleeping Policemen (if you haven't heard that expression it's speedbumps) 2: Sunday drivers (you know what I mean we've all been behind them at weekends!) 3: Towed caravans! (The bane of a boyracers life as well as one Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear!!) 4: Pimp My Ride (on each pit stop and item has to be added) 5: Low Riders 6: Mr Magoo driving the lead out/chase car (used for yellow flag conditions as this enables the marshalls to replace the various hazards and clean up after the old ones have done their work) 7: White knuckle drivers 6: Ambulances on route to an accident 8: OAP's that can just see over the top of the steering wheel crawling along at 20mph (see No2) 9: Funeral directors following alongside leaning over and measuring them up for a box! 10: White Van Man!! (maybe a UK phenomenon.. but I somehow doubt it!) This would come complete with lucky dice hanging from the rearview mirror, Daily Sport and ciggies (was gonna put fag but some people may not know what that is!) on the passenger seat full of junk along with a lunchbox full of junk food. Out of date old road map. Sat nav not working either as he got fed up of going down narrow country lanes after entering the wrong info so he smashed it! Drinks holder with empty cup, half eaten burger and chips, fries to you over the the other side of the pond, this would also be on the dash. Mobile (cell) phone under his chin and one arm out of the window, reading a paper and eating! 11: Picnics in the pit lane (includes picnic tables, plastic chairs, thermos flasks, bland white soggy cheese/tomato sarnies! Prerequisite for the man is a knotted hankie on the head (Think Mr Gumby from Monty Python) 12: Traffic lights on the course (with a filter light... broken) 13: No overtaking signs (on the straights!) 14: Ambulance chasers (see No6) 15: Hearse and funeral procession complete with the man infront walking with top hat and stick (see No 2) (or... I added this one as an afterthought as it is a totally different style) 16: Traditional old style East End of London Funeral procession with a horse drawn hearse and covered in wreaths ala Ronnie and Reggie Kray 17: The Stig from Top Gear (hmmm he is probably at a race anyway as he is allegedly an F1 driver or test driver!) 18: Captain Slow (see Top Gear on BBC) 19: Carchase complete with police convoy (add required number of cars dependant on the severity of the crime) with a chase helicopter following above 20: Farm tractor and trailer carrying silage stinking like you know what and to be used only on stinking hot race days only 21: Roadworks! Complete with workers with stop/go placards and builders bum is a pre-requisite 22: School lollipop ladies 23: Zebra crossings (normal ones with belisha beacons) 24: Pelican crossings (traffic light controlled crossing points) 25: Traffic wardens in the pit lane 26: Speed cops with radar guns.. hiding like they do in laybys and on overhead bridges (sneaky bastards.. lol) 27: Speed Cameras and people bunging them up with instafoam that expands and hardens.. or setting fire to them! (yay.. I got me one of these for my region!) 28: Bin Men emptying bins and leaving rubbish on the track (broken bottles, tin cans etc. Could also be used in the pit lane, nice and narrow there so no way to get past and the usual queue forms up as they then decide to reverse back down the track/pit lane 29: Big Issue sellers on the pit lane entry and exit 30: Car window cleaners with dirty water/rags and selling papers/flowers in the same spot as well, working like a tag team maybe? lol) But by far and away the funnies of all was this one my friend Beth said... Ice Cream Vans!! I admit I did laugh, just imagine. "Stop me and buy one" A tinny tune playing (insert your favourite Ice cream van jingle here) as it "races" around the track Dont believe me? This could be fun! Forward to Friend | Comments (1) Log in Failed (again!) New server upgrade (V1.40.4) rolled out. System wide grid restart completed.. all hunky dory now? Nope This was an upgrade from the other week which they had to roll back... Now put into place over the past few days.. and now SL has gone all Pete Tong! (Again!) Roll on 18th August when they roll out the new server! (Pardon the bad pun!) Server 1.42 (pilot) and then on the 25th a "rolling restart" of Server 1.42   Typical.. No log-in No transactions available No Land Store either [Updated 9:40 am PST] The issue that we are currently experiencing has been identified. However, we do not have an expected ETA. As soon as we have further information we will update this blog. [8:48 am PST] We are aware that there are various technical issues taking place currently inworld and on the website. We are investigating this situation and working towards a quick resolution. Some of the symptoms involved are difficulty to teleport, transactions failing and the inability to login. Please refrain from making inworld transactions, inventory transfers or rezzing items inworld. Please check this blog for further updates. Some of the symptoms!!! Pray.. do tell exactly how many problems are there then? I've been trying to log in for the past 3 hours or so.. its now 7pm here (11am SL time). I was previously in SL in my region around 2-3pm, about to do some of the rebuilding and went to see my friend Nightgirl, who was putting up a new outfit in HeroMart and also onto Xstreet (soon to be rebranded with a new name!) She had a few issues then and this was around 2-3pm. I then went to an Urban region, after looking on the SL website at some. I was in there looking around as a "visitor/observer" and then the lag meter started acting like a traffic light. I was stuck.. 8 times I tried to leave the region.. 8 times I failed.. "unable to teleport..." Around 4pm(ish) I called Nightgirl for help... and set my group tag to her home and bingo! It worked.. Rescued by Nightgirl.. (yay!) Another damsel in distress saved! I also had a webpage error message (500 internal error message) uh oh!! I tried to reload the page.. it eventually came back up and I logged out (I hope I did as it was taking ages and it went down again!) I told her about the region and what happened as well as that message showing up. She then departed as she had to leave work, day off tomorrow as she is getting ready for her holiday. She then logged out leaving me on my own at her place trying to jump home! Nope! I failed.. 3 times and then got logged out by the system. Since then I had to hope that the system was still down as I was still logged into the SL website. It's now back up and I had logged out as I had to log back in. Now we are at this stage.. Log-ins Disabled So no region rebuild for me for the forseeable future. This means a day lost on the rebuild for me as I'm working on my own doing this. Will they refund any down time over this I bet not.. despite the fact that we pay SL for regions/land etc we don't get a refund if it all goes belly up! If this was a problem in RL and not SL you would expect some sort of compensation.. wouldn't you? the log-in screen shows around 17.9k in world and prior to that it was around 46-50k! That's a lot of pissed off punters lost and not even at peak time yet either! Ooooh Lucky for them at LL! Less complaints to handle! Forward to Friend | Comments (1) Enough is enough! What I have as a home now has taken me time to get to.. I started off by renting a small home, as did my friends too.. we all started out on Mykonos (if I recall that was the name of the island.) we then moved on to bigger and larger homes too.. I've ended up with what is a lovely home. Ok part of the island is a sand box for me to build in but all in all the house is the best part of the island as is the small pond next to it, made by me as a spot for friends to chill out in when we are not around. So all said and done I've been patient, polite and positively charming when strangers drop by my island home unannounced. I've talked to them when I've been there and some have been real nice too and also I've had some decent conversations with them as well. They've then departed and carried on Region hopping around SL just looking around. I've also done this plenty of times but I never take the piss out of peoples hospitality like some people do. If there are homes in the region.. I don't enter unless invited in by the owners. I take a look around the region but I don't cam around (ie snoop) as I am always looking around stores and regions that have things I'm interested in buying or even looking at builds to see what people are using in Urban regions/sims. I get ideas that way for mine, and then I go to my platform and try some ideas out for builds I may use... or not. But I never intrude on peoples privacy. Having said that there are the other types of people in SL. These are the downright rude and ignorant types I still am polite to these people, even when I explain that my Island home is exactly that. MY HOME It isn't a flop house for all and sundry to use as a squat, just because I'm not there. I have security on it, but due to the region restarts that SL keep doing it needs to be reset for some reason, this at least keeps them out of the house at least (there is a way of getting past locked doors in SL but I don't do that) but despite this I caught a few people, on different occassions using my land/home as if it was their own place. When asked to vacate the land immediately they basically acted like they were afk etc. One person even had the gall to continue playing the piano in my home despite my constant requests for him to stop and leave. I ended up banning him as he returned a short time later, thinking that I wasn't around. He proceeded to wander around my house. He spoke perfectly good English too so there was no chance of him not understanding me at all. Then there was the case of someone using my island as an airport! He parked his plane there twice.. I removed it the first time and he was "apologetic". Claimed he didn't know about it. pffft! Then the next day it was back there. not for long either. I saw him go in and then start using it there.. I was on him like a flash.. returned his plane.. sent him an IM and then he claimed it wasnt even his despite the fact that it was in his name. Banned and then muted.. after getting some rude words from him. Others had decided to use my home for RP... I asked them to leave and if they wanted to do RP then to use the region next door, irrespective of the fact that it is being rebuilt there is the JSP Lobby and a few other spots in the region that they could use. But oh no. They seem to think that my home is an open house for all of SL to use! Well it isn't "open to the public" now. Not any more! As a result of this I have now set my Island home to Group access only. Friends on my Allowed List can still access my Island without any problems. If, however you are on either the Friends list or in the RBH Group and still can't access the Island then please do let me know and I'll sort it out to allow you access, that way you can drop by and see Becky and myself at home anytime. So to all of you freeloaders and spongers that seem to think that you can live on my island for free then forget it. If you want a home then talk to me and I can sort something out for you in the other region! So to all of you who want to drop by and see either Becky or myself and you couldn't access the Island well now you know why and I do apologise, but as I've said, why should I let some freeloaders, spongers, and transient fly-by-night prats get to use MY HOME as theirs? So to all of you transient freeloading types. No more of this: Mi casa es su casa but more like this: ¡mi casa es mi casa, él no es su casa! If you can't understand this then use Babel Fish to translate it (like I did) but I'm sure you know already what it means! Forward to Friend | Comments (2) Hebredian weather  Forward to Friend | Comments (0) Wanted.. trashed/wrecked vehicles I'm actually looking for some rundown/trashed/wrecked vehicles for my region although I already do have Arcadia Asylum vehicles and I do use these but I want something that is a little more modern in look to use as well. These are to make the place look more "lifelike" and "lived in" as it were. So if anyone can either point me in the direction of a someone or a place that sells or makes wrecked vehicles then please do let me know. Or if you have some and wouldn't mind giving me one or two of these "gratis", *she hopes and prays* then I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands and in return I'd place an advert for you in the region with a link to your store. I have, as I said, two wrecked cars.. and I'm looking for some more.. preferably sculpties if possible, bit if not something that has got some nice detail to it like the vehicles in the picture below have The ones I have already are: *KOPI* A130_crash by surfash Bade and Burnt out car and Riot Van (Urban Wreckage) both by Donny Homewood So something along those lines is what I'm looking for to add realism to the urban region I am rebuilding at the moment. Any information on vehicles that are similar or as good as, if not better, would be appreciated. So if you do have some that are like this and wouldn't mind "gifting" them then as I said I'd put an ad up in the region and add a link to your store in return. Free advertising.. Oh what joy! :)  Forward to Friend | Comments (3) No Friends anymore I then flew across the region to Heroes to see if anything was happening there and when I got there things just wouldn't rezz. All I saw was a hole in the ground! No prims... nothing! Things slowly started to appear so I jumped home to see if things would rezz there and then the fun started! When I jumped home the screen just stayed black with the load bar crawling across the screen slower than Lottie (the tortoise that was lost and was recently found about 1.5miles from home two years later!) Seems to me that LL have the same prob with the loading page. It then told me there was a problem loading so I logged off then logged back in. Nope... still wouldn't load. I repeated this a few more times and got the same message and with no luck logging I quit and I then logged on to the SL website. Oh Joy! That took ages to load too then when it did I saw this!  Seems to me that I haven't got any friends in SL now. So SL say this (or rather demand it with the explanation point!) You don't have any friends yet. Go make some! (I wonder what my friends think I just hope they don't think I've deserted them!) Despite the fact that I have more friends on my list inworld than I do on Facebook and Myspace! There must be someone out there that wants an angel? I know you don't care for these too much, but you MUST read this - it will only take a minute. Angel in a Box I normally don't send these mushy things, but there was just something about this one that I had to share with you.... Heaven has sent you an Angel in a box...  I know. You are thinking... oooooh how sweet and adorable. Well... I have to pass the angel on. So! Are you ready for your angel? You're sure you're ready? Ok then..... Here's your very own angel! Heaven didn't want him, so they sent him to me...  I sure as hell don't want him, so, I'm sending him to you! The rules are simple: You can send him away, but you can't send him BACK!!! Sorry   Forward to Friend | Comments (1) Typical! My first time back in SL for a while and what's happened? Capped IM's (par for the course now!) Chat lag, the usual wading through treacle effect, sliding across the region. I log in at home and what do I see. Nada! Sod all! Zilch! Nothing but water and a few prims dotted around. I try to fly around and I zoom across the region, when I "land" I go way underground and don't stop at all! Along with freezing, grey prims, yada yada yada! To cap it all I froze and then crashed.. now I can't log in at all! No change there then, still the same problems, despite all the promises from Linden Labs. Still if they didn't cut 30% of their staff this may not have happened at all. Bless! Some how I doubt it! Oh well I'll have to try later on as I keep getting log-in error messages now too! Forward to Friend | Comments (0) ADVANCE NOTICE OF REGION CLOSURE I've been away from SL for the past few weeks, only dropping in when I get the chance as RL issues, family, work and also personal time consisting of family birthdays and also a wedding in two different places etc (the same people, a wedding abroad and also to be held here in Wales... don't ask!) have restricted my time severely in SL lately. As such I've only been online to get messages, these are constantly capped and I just wish SL would increase the message "count"! As such I sent out a notecard to some groups a week or so ago to let them know what was happening with me in SL and RL so if they needed to contact me they could do so by using the suggested means I put in the notecard. Those of you who know me personally will know what I'm on about, as you've known me since we were together in another Virtual World, RLC and we were there for a long time, around 12-18 months at least prior to moving into SL. We've been in here, my friends and I that is, for over 2 years now as well. So as such my time is valuable to me in here as it is to all of you too no doubt, I have things I do in SL that means I don't have the time to be with friends as much as I'd like to be. So as such I'm putting out this anouncement well in advance so people cannot say they did not know about what I'm saying in this blog. Also some of this will be going out as a Notecard to various people/groups that I use in SL as well to inform them of what may, or rather will be happening in the coming months. Region Rebuild RoBeck Land will be CLOSED from July until August to allow me to refurbish/rebuild etc, the whole Region. This will mean that there will be a near full Regional refurbishment, so the majority of the region, about 70% of it that is, will be closed from July until August to allow me to rebuild and also to allow certain people to help out with some work they can do, set waypoints and a few other things required for the JSP Group (Jailbreak Slave Precinct) Hunt scenario to be reconfigured and also hopefully improved with a few additions. *** PLEASE NOTE *** HEROES WILL NOT CLOSE AND IT WILL REMAIN OPEN DURING THIS PERIOD AS THIS WORK WILL NOT HAVE ANY AFFECT ON THE USE OF THE CLUB AT ALL Speaking of which...(unashamed plug time now) RACE FOR LIFE, a cancer charity function (already blogged by a few others) will be held there next month in July. Forward to Friend | Comments (0) Military Status and what it means The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the Great Fire of 1666. The Scots raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards" They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line in the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. It's not only the French who are on a heightened level of alert. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides." The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose". Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels. The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Americans meanwhile are carrying out pre-emptive strikes, on all of their allies, just in case. New Zealand has also raised its security levels - from "baaa" to "BAAAA!". Due to continuing defence cutbacks (the air force being a squadron of spotty teenagers flying paper aeroplanes and the navy some toy boats in the Prime Minister's bath), New Zealand only has one more level of escalation, which is "****, I hope Australia will come and rescue us". Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be right, mate". Two more escalation levels remain, "Crikey!', "I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend" and "The barbie is cancelled". So far no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level. Canadians are holding a public enquiry on the matter, have hired federal teams of bilingual grief counsellors and are controlling the situation through pieces of carefully-worded legislation which are currently on hold as the House is not sitting. Forward to Friend | Comments (0) At Last... It's Over!!! (and this was only a First Round Match!) After 11 hours and 5 mins, spread over 3 days the longest ever tennis match has finally finished! Jonh Isner finally overcame Nicholas Mahut beating him by this incredible score: John Isner (USA) bt Nicolas Mahut (Fra) 6-4 3-6 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (7-3) 70-68 Not quite the normal tennis score.. more like a basketball match score and the last set took over 8 hours to complete!  They got a standing ovation from the crowd, as did the match umpire. All three were presented with special trophies as a result of this amazing game. We were channel hopping from the World Cup game between Slovakia v Italy and this tennis match, just wish we had two tv's on hand to watch them both at the same time! This ended up in a shock defeat for Italy as the score ended up Slovakia 3 Italy 2, and this means that Italy go out!Goood for the English cause at least, means one less "top" team to face, if we get past the Germans on Sunday! *looks up to Heaven and offers up a silent prayer* But back to the epic tennis match that broke all records, none that will ever be repeated either, I doubt! This match was stopped last night, due to bad light just after 9pm, cue shots of aircraft flying in from the USA into Heathrow with the commentators saying that the plane in shot had taken off from America when the match resumed yesterday (Wednesday afternoon) and was still underway as it was landing when they were still playing yesterday evening! We were watching this when it was 33-34 in Isner's favour in the final set and we looked at each other as the score on the screen looked odd, we thought it was a tie-break. My friend then pointed out it couldn't be as it was the final set (no tie-break in that) They had to keep reminding people that the scoreboard was correct and that it was true and that they had then set a world record as well! Players ,and fans were coming from all over Wimbledon, after the other games were done to watch this from the overlooking balcony and walkways nearby. The scoreboard even went off when it was around 50-50 as it couldn't cope with the score. (No doubt it hadn't been set to go that high, as it was probably thought that no one would ever get there maybe?) It was sorted out today though as the score finally ended up at 68-70 in Inser's favour as he edged out Mahut after 11 hours and 5 mins! John MacEnroe and Tracy Austin were both there in the "cheap seats" watching the match, and had a bet on the outcome too! Macca said it would go to 64 games, Tracy bet on 72. John Inverdale spoke to them during the game, between games when they spoke of the bet. Isner's was out on his feet last night and Mahut looked the fresher of the two.. even after 10hours of tennis! Mahut called for the game to be stopped as he had trouble seeing the ball. Even though Isner was "dead" on his feet, but still smashing aces in at over 120mph he wanted to go on! The match referee decided it had to stop. I'm wondering if the "wag" in the crowd was still there from about 5:45pm yesterday. He shouted out for them to hurry up and finish as he had to get home as the Baby sitter had to go at 6pm! cue laughter all around the court, and a smile from Isner too! They "tested" my account and the attempted transaction was blocked by my bank (attempted hack by an "unknown person" etc. Soon hadthis sorted and the payment was accepted the next time by my bank as it was then able to recognise that the attempt was legitimate.
